SNDT University MA Psychology Admission 2024 update!
SNDT Women’s University Mumbai is now accepting applications for the MA in Psychology admission for the 2024 academic year.
Founded in 1916 by Maharshi Dr. Dhondo Keshav Karve, SNDT Women’s University was created to provide quality education to women. It holds the distinction of being the first Women’s University in India and Southeast Asia.
The university has campuses located at Churchgate, Mumbai, Juhu, Mumbai, and Karve Road, Pune, SNDT Women’s University aims to meet the changing needs of society and provide education to women through various means. Its motto is “Empowering women through knowledge.”
In the Week-Hansa Research ranking of 2020, SNDT Women’s University secured the 32nd position among multi-disciplinary universities in India and stood fourth in Western India.
The SNDT University has opened its application for various courses for the academic year 2024, including a Master’s Degree Program in Psychology. It is a two-year (4-semester) program in on-campus mode.
The first year includes core subjects, and the second contains electives and research work. The electives in the second year are based on merit, and Dissertation submission is a mandatory part of the course.

Eligibility criteria: MA Psychology
- Applicants must hold a bachelor’s degree in psychology from SNDT Women’s University or any recognized university.
- Alternatively, candidates from other institutions should have completed 8 courses worth 4 credits each, including at least one practical course of 4 credits.

- Maniben Nanavati Women’s College, Vile-Parle (West)
- Department of Psychology, Pune Campus
Admission procedure: MA Psychology
The selection for this course will be based on the merit of marks in graduation.
Number of Seats:
Churchgate Campus in Mumbai, the annual intake is 30 students.
At the Karve Road Campus in Pune:
- Aided Program: Admits 25 students per specialization.
- Self-Financed Program: 30 students annually.
Medium of instructions
The modes of instruction differ between the two campuses for the MA Psychology program:
- Churchgate Campus, Mumbai: Conducted in English.
- Karve Road Campus, Pune: Offered in Marathi for the aided program, with the provision for students to take exams in English.
