Eligibility Criteria

Candidates should complete their Master’s in Psychology program with not less than 55% marks in aggregate to be eligible for Ph.D. in Psychology at SVKM’s NMIMS University.

Besides of Master’s degree in Psychology, students have another option of an equivalent degree from foreign educational institution accredited by an assessment and accreditation agency.

Duration and Intakes

There are 12 seats for Ph.D. in Psychology at SKVM’s NMIMS University. The duration of Ph.D. Psychology here is 3 to 6 years.

Admission Procedure

Candidates, who have gained 50% marks will be eligible for an interview at NMIMS. The interview will be conducted by NMIMS university to discuss their research area using a presentation. Candidates will be given 70% weightage of the entrance examination and 30% of their performance in the interview. The marks of both components (entrance exam + interview) will be added and rankings will be determined based on the total scores.

Notably, the candidates who have cleared their NET /SET /GATE or other equivalent examination are exempted from the written test conducted by SVKM’s NMIMS University and the selection of them will be through interview only.

The interview will be based on the marks obtained in the exam.

Exam Pattern

The entrance exam for Ph.D. Psychology at NMIMS will include 50% of the research methodology and 50% of questions will be based on discipline. The question paper will have two sections. Section A will include research methodology questions and section B will include discipline-specific questions.

The entrance examination will be at Mumbai campus only.

Application Fee

The registration fee for PhD in Psychology at NMIMS University will be ₹2500/-. Students should note that the registration fee is non-refundable /non-transferable.

Application Process

You have to visit the official website in order to apply for PhD in Psychology at NMIMS University. There, you have to register by provide your basic information. Once, you login to the portal, you will have the programs along with “Apply Now” Option. You have to start new application for PhD in Psychology course by click on “Apply Now” option. There, you will have 5 steps to complete the online application.

Follow the steps

In step 1, you have to provide your personal information including, your name, contact details, UID, etc.
After that, you are to fill the details of your parents.
In step 3, you have to fill out your all academic details like graduation, postgraduate, etc.
After this, you will have option of additional information. Additional information includes your work experience, the basis on which you are applying for (UGC NET /SET /GATE or Entrance Examination at NMIMS).
At the last, you have to upload all the documents as shown on the registration portal and make the payment of registration fee.
