A Master of Arts (M.A.) or Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Psychology is a graduate-level degree program. It allows individuals to continue further their education and training in the field of psychology. The Master’s program is two years courses. It offers students the opportunity to specialize in various areas of psychology like clinical psychology, counseling psychology, and experimental psychology. In this article, we will discuss the tentative timeline of MA MSc Psychology applications in upcoming 6 Months.

The timeline mentioned here is tentative. Institutes can released the applications before or after this tentative timeline.

Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI)

Jamia Millia Islamia is a government university in Delhi, India. It started in 1920 and provides different types of education like bachelor’s, master’s, and doctorate degrees. People from different backgrounds study there, and the university has a long history of doing well in academics. Jamia Millia Islamia has a Master of Arts program in Applied Psychology.

JMI has a total of 42 intakes for MA Applied Psychology course. To be eligible for the course, a candidate needs to complete the Bachelor’s in Psychology with at least 50% marks. If a candidate is a non-Psychology student, he /she can also apply for the course with more than 55% marks in their bachelor’s program.

National Forensic Science University (NFSU)

The National Forensic Sciences University (NFSU) is government-supported in Gandhinagar, Gujarat, India, founded in 2020. It provides different levels of education like bachelor’s, master’s, and doctorate degrees in forensic sciences. This includes areas like digital forensics, cyber security, and Forensic Psychology. NFSU has a Master of Science program in Clinical Psychology.

The institute has 50 intakes for M.Sc. in Clinical Psychology. Candidates, who have completed their bachelor’s program in arts /science in Psychology or science subject are eligible to apply here.

Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE)

Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE) is a private university in Manipal, India. It covers various subjects and has a special status. The university has campuses in Mangalore, Bangalore, Jamshedpur, Malacca, and Dubai. It provides over 350 programs in 30 different fields. The first session of M. Phil Clinical Psychology at Manipal Academy took place in 2005.

To be eligible for MSc in Clinical Psychology at MAHE, candidates must have completed their BA /BSc in Psychology with not less than 55% marks in aggregate or any other equivalent qualification from a university recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC).

Fergusson College, Mumbai

Fergusson College in Pune is a highly honorable school with a long history, starting in 1885. It’s famous for being excellent in education and making contributions in different areas, including Psychology. The college provides different undergraduate and postgraduate programs, including a Master’s degree in Psychology.

To be eligible for MA Psychology at Fergusson College, it is necessary to complete Bachelor’s program under any stream. Never the less, those candidates will be preferable who have completed B.A. /B.Sc. with Psychology as Honors /Major /Principal subject.

Osmania University

Osmania University is India’s seventh oldest university. It was the first university came into existence in the former princely state of Hyderabad, starting in 1918. The university provides different undergraduate and postgraduate programs, including a Master’s in Psychology.

4 campuses of Osmania University offer MA Psychology program. To be eligible for MA Psychology at Osmania University, the candidates must have completed their graduation under any stream.

Aligarh Muslim University (AMU)

Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) is a government university in Aligarh, Uttar Pradesh, India. It started in 1875 as the Muhammadan Anglo-Oriental College by Sir Syed Ahmad Khan and became Aligarh Muslim University in 1920.

There are 40 intakes at AMU for MA Psychology. To be eligible for the program, B.A. /B.Sc. program with more than 55% marks in aggregate. Notably, there is an upper age limit of 27 years at AMU for MA Psychology course.

Christ University

Christ University came into existence in the year 1969. The main campus is in Bangalore, and it is recognized as a Deemed-to-be University by the UGC. Christ University provides education in different levels like bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral programs, including a Master of Science in Clinical Psychology.

To be eligible for the course, Bachelor’s degree in Psychology as a core paper in all years of the program must be completed with at least 50% marks from a recognized university.

Mumbai University

The University of Mumbai, or MU, is among the biggest universities globally. It has more than 711 affiliated colleges and was started in 1857 by the British government. Initially called the University of Bombay, it got renamed to the University of Mumbai in 1996.

Candidates, who have completed the bachelor’s degree with at least one paper in Psychology from a recognized university are eligible for MA Psychology at Mumbai University.

St. Xavier’s College (Autonomous), Mumbai

St. Xavier’s College in Mumbai is a well-regarded institution for higher education in India. It began in 1869 and is connected with the University of Mumbai. The college provides programs for bachelor’s and master’s degrees in different subjects such as arts, science, commerce, and management.

Those individuals can apply here who have completed a Bachelor’s in Psychology in any discipline with minimum of three papers in Psychology.

SNDT Women’s University

SNDT Women’s University came into existence in 1916 by Maharshi Dr. Dhondo Keshav Karve, is dedicated to women’s education. It holds the distinction of being the first Women’s University in India and Southeast Asia.
